RPMs

This is the recommended way to install webCDwriter on systems that have the RPM Package Manager. If the available RPMs don't match your system, try the installer below.

Installer

To simplify the installation of webCDwriter the installer was invented. The installer will check for the tools dpkg and rpm and build ".deb" or ".rpm" packages, if possible.

TARs

If you don't have the RPM Package Manager or are just looking for the source of webCDwriter there are TARs available. They also contain a precompiled and signed webCDcreator.jar to simplify the installation.

Packages for Debian GNU/Linux

See the first debian package built and tested on Ubuntu Linux.

Packages for eisfair

There is a German HOWTO and a download page available.

Instructions for Gentoo Linux

Run the following commands:

emerge --sync
echo "app-cdr/webcdwriter ~x86" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
emerge webcdwriter

Instructions for Ubuntu Linux

See the instructions for an easy installation on Ubuntu Linux.

Slackware packages

There are Slackware 8.1 and 9.0 packages available (thanks to Eric Hameleers).

CDWserver Pro (non-GPL)

Since webCDwriter 2.6.0 there is a commercial replacement of the server coming with webCDwriter.

Special mkisofs with UTF-8 support

If you want to use non-ISO-8859-1 characters in filenames, try this patched version of mkisofs.
